What We'll Handle in Your Project
We review your request, advise you on the technical design, and select a suitable production partner from our network. We then coordinate tooling and prototyping, manage series production, and inspect production on-site. Depending on the project, we also handle finishing, surface treatment, or assembly. We produce and finance the planned volume in advance within the agreed-upon framework. We store the inspected components in Leonberg and deliver the agreed-upon batch sizes on demand. Richter Formteile in Germany remains your contractual partner throughout the entire project.
How Your Drawing Becomes a Production Part
Your Request
Please send us your drawing and the project details you already have. This includes, in particular, the material, annual demand, and any other requirements for the component. If any information is missing, we will work with you to determine what else is needed for the initial review.
Feasibility Study
We assess whether the component can be manufactured using one of our processes from both a technical and economic standpoint. In doing so, we consider the geometry, material, quantity, and quality requirements. You will receive an initial assessment of the feasibility and any outstanding issues.
Consulting on Materials and Processes
We align your requirements with the capabilities of investment casting, MIM, sintering, and die forging. Together, we determine the material, production-ready design, and quality specifications for series production.
Selection of a Production Partner
We select the production partner from our international network whose processes and manufacturing capabilities are best suited to the component and the planned production run. Richter Formteile coordinates the collaboration and serves as your point of contact.
What We Offer
You will receive a quote detailing the agreed-upon services for tooling, prototyping, mass production, and other manufacturing steps. We will discuss any outstanding issues before you place the order.
Your Order
Once you have placed your order, Richter Formteile will coordinate tooling, production planning, and prototyping with the selected production partner.
Your initial samples
The manufacturing partner produces the initial samples. The agreed-upon specifications are tested and documented. You will typically receive the samples in about ten weeks. The exact timeframe depends on the component, the mold, and the scope of testing.
Approval of Initial Samples
You review the initial samples and the initial sample inspection report in-house. We resolve any discrepancies with the production partner. Mass production does not begin until you have given your approval.
Mass Production and Logistics
Richter Formteile manages series production and oversees the manufacturing process on-site. We monitor agreed-upon processes and quality specifications and resolve any deviations directly with the manufacturing partner. Depending on the project, we also coordinate machining, surface finishing, or assembly. We then arrange for transportation, import, and customs clearance.
Storage in Leonberg
We pre-produce and pre-finance the agreed-upon quantities within the agreed-upon framework. The components are inspected, picked, and stored in Leonberg. We can accommodate customer containers or agreed-upon system packaging.
Delivery on Call
You place orders for the agreed-upon lot sizes as needed. Richter Formteile arranges delivery from its Leonberg warehouse. You are billed for the quantity ordered each time.

We conduct inspections at the production sites
Employees from Richter Formteile and independent inspectors monitor production at our partners' facilities. They verify the agreed-upon processes and quality characteristics and document the results.
The scope of testing depends on the component. Possible tests include 3D measurement, chemical analysis, X-ray and ultrasonic testing, as well as tests for tensile strength, yield strength, and notched impact strength. We coordinate additional tests and test certificates on a project-by-project basis. In the event of deviations, we handle the clarification process with the production partner.
The order is ready. Payment is due upon pickup.
To ensure that you do not have to purchase your entire annual supply at once and store it yourself, Richter Formteile manufactures and finances the agreed-upon quantity in advance within the agreed framework.
We store the inspected and picked components in Leonberg. You call off the agreed-upon batch sizes as needed and pay for the quantity delivered each time. We coordinate requirements, batch sizes, and call-off schedules with you for each project.
Richter Formteile will continue to be responsible for your project.
Even for international manufacturing, you enter into the contract with Richter Formteile in Germany. We serve as the central point of contact for drawings, quality requirements, and delivery agreements.
We manage the production partner, coordinate procurement, logistics, and customs clearance, and handle any technical issues or deviations. Your contact person is familiar with the project and will keep you informed about the next steps.

Questions About the Process
For the initial review, we need your drawing, details about the desired material, and your projected annual demand. It is also helpful to provide information about the desired delivery date, specific quality characteristics, as well as machining, surface finish, or assembly requirements. If not all details have been finalized yet, we will work with you to determine what is needed for the feasibility study.
Once the order is placed, Richter Formteile coordinates tooling, production planning, and the manufacture of the initial samples. The agreed-upon specifications are inspected and documented. You will then receive the initial samples and the initial sample inspection report for review at your facility.
Series production begins once you approve the initial samples. If there are any discrepancies or a need for changes, we will clarify these issues with you and our production partner beforehand.
Employees of Richter Formteile and independent inspectors oversee the manufacturing process on-site at the production partners’ facilities. Depending on the process and component, we coordinate, for example, CNC machining, heat treatment, surface finishing, or the assembly of individual parts into a subassembly. We determine which steps are appropriate and feasible during the technical coordination phase.
Richter Formteile manufactures the specified quantities within the agreed-upon framework and stores the inspected components in Leonberg. You call off the agreed-upon lot sizes as needed. Billing is based on the quantity delivered in each instance. The specific quantities and call-off terms are agreed upon for each project.
Your contractual partner is Richter Formteile GmbH in Germany. We coordinate our international production partners and handle the coordination of technical matters, quality, procurement, logistics, and customs clearance.
We review the deviation against the agreed-upon specifications and investigate the cause with our production partner. We will coordinate with you to determine what corrective action is needed and how to proceed with the project.
